HOW IT WORKS

One word at a time,
together

webposts.live turns writing into a live, multiplayer game. Here is the full breakdown of how posts come to life.

1

A new post opens

An admin (or the system) opens a blank post. It starts with zero words and immediately enters its first round. Anyone can now visit the live post and begin suggesting words.

2

Suggest a word

Signed-in members type a word suggestion and submit it. A suggestion becomes a candidate for the next token in the post. Type EOP (End of Post) to nominate the post for closure.

3

Vote — 5 minutes on the clock

Each round lasts exactly 5 minutes. During that window members vote (♥) for the suggestion they prefer. The vote bar updates live so you can see which word is leading.

4

The winner is appended

When the timer hits zero, the suggestion with the most votes is locked in as the next word of the post. A new round starts immediately. The cycle repeats until EOP wins a round.

Post is published

Once EOP wins a round the post is closed and published to the archive. Every contributor's username is credited next to the word they suggested. The post is now permanent and publicly viewable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to read posts? +

No — all published posts are publicly readable without an account. You only need to register to suggest words and vote.

Can I suggest more than one word per round? +

Yes. You can submit multiple suggestions per round, but each suggestion counts as a separate candidate. You can vote for any one of them (including your own).

What happens when two suggestions tie? +

In the event of a tie the word that was submitted first (earliest timestamp) wins. This keeps every round deterministic.

Is there any moderation? +

Admins can remove suggestions that violate the community guidelines before a round ends. Posts that contain harmful content after publication can also be unlisted.
